The safe and tension-free mounting of encoders with foot mounting using measuring instruments is a complex process. The new mounting gauge for HKD(SI) couplings is a simple and reusable alternative that ensures reliable signal transmission. It consists of two half shells and was developed especially for the shaft alignment of encoders with foot mounting.
Optimal signal quality starts with mounting
Solid shaft assemblies with foot mounting demand maximum precision. The coupling that connects the shaft and the encoder is required to compensate environmental influences but is not allowed to be permanently under tension while doing so. If the coupling is not mounted without tension and the shaft alignment of the encoder is incorrect, the quality of the signal transmission deteriorates, which may lead to premature failure of the coupling or ball bearings. Up until now, the couplings have been mounted in a complex process requiring measuring instruments. The new mounting gauge significantly reduces the complexity of the process.
A simple tool with an impressive effect
The new mounting gauge for HKD(SI) couplings facilitates the safe, tension-free mounting of couplings and encoders with foot mounting. The gauge is suitable for double joint couplings by Hübner Giessen and is available in two versions: for standard HKD/HKDI couplings and for couplings with the HKDS/HKSDI safety design. For mounting, the coupling is simply placed in the gauge. The gauge covers the coupling like housing and reinforces it during the mounting process so that after mounting, it is fixed in a perfect, tension-free position.
A perfect fit guaranteed
Spacer plates of different thicknesses are available to compensate a possible height misalignment with the foot of the encoder. Additional friction-enhancing washers are also available for attachments with high vibration or shock loads. After successful mounting, the mounting gauge can be removed and reused again and again.
