Integration through training: Ahmad Askar successfully passes his professional training examination

After completing three years of training, Ahmad Askar has now achieved his goal and successfully passed his final professional training examination as an electronics engineer specializing in machine and drive technology We are delighted about his achievement, especially after a training period that may have been more difficult for him than for many other trainees.

A ‘triple jump’ to training success

Ahmad Askar came to Germany as a refugee and found his way to the company Hubner Giessen via the “Dreisprung zur Ausbildung” (Triple Jump to Training) project. With this funding program supported by the district of Giessen, the vocational training organization Zentrum für Arbeit und Umwelt – Giessener gemeinnützige Berufsbildungsgesellschaft mbH (ZAUG gGmbH) finds training positions for young people from various backgrounds, including refugees. Ahmad Askar initially completed a six-month-long internship at our company and was so committed and successful that we decided to offer him a subsequent position as a trainee.

Grateful for strong support

During his training, Ahmad Askar not only had to learn a multitude of new specialist terms from the field of electronics but also attended German lessons to further improve his language skills. He reports that if he ever had trouble understanding the language or any other questions, his colleagues were always happy to help: “My supervisor looked after me extremely well, as did the administration team. I was given all the help I needed.” Askar particularly valued the team spirit shown by his colleagues: “I have always been treated fairly and with respect and feel right at home at the company and among my fellow employees.” He therefore instantly accepted our offer to stay on at the company as a qualified assistant for the production of electrical equipment.

Tips for future trainees

Ahmad Askar is already planning the next stages of his future and has set himself the ambitious target of gaining a few years of experience as an assistant before tackling the Master Electronics Technician examination. His advice for the new trainees who will be starting their training at Hubner Giessen in the summer is to never give up and to simply ask for help if they have any problems. We would like to wish Ahmad Askar all the best and every continued success at Hubner Giessen.
