The permanently excited tacho generators convert the speed with which they are driven to a DC voltage proportional to that speed.
With a device temperature range of -25 °C to +100 °C and a high degree of protection IP67, they are ideally suitable for reliable use in harsh environments.
Their high-accurate linearity (< 0.15%) and low harmonic content (< 0.56%, from 200 1/min to 3000 1/min) ensure precise output signals.
The magnet system of the tacho generators consists of two permanent block magnets made of a neodymium-iron-boron alloy.
The dimensions and quality of the utilized silver-coated carbon brushes and solid double brush holders guarantee long, maintenance-free operation (page 7 of 9 – catalogue) of the tacho generators even when subjected to the vibrations and shock loads that frequently occur in railroad applications.
