The mid-’60s Jaguar was an important part of the surf guitar sound for countless Southern California bands, and was heard on many TV and movie soundtracks. This vintage single-coil pickup recreates that classic sound. Our custom Antiquity aging process adds a sweetness to the Antiquity II Jaguar’s top end, while retaining its bright, chimey focus, even if you’re playing through a wash of reverb (as you should be). Pair with the RW/RP Antiquity II Jaguar neck pickup for hum-canceling operation when used together. When used on its own, the Antiquity II Jaguar neck model is surprisingly versatile, going way beyond surf into funk, alt-rock, and psychedelic realms. These pickups are drop-in replacements for any Fender American Standard-sized Jaguar pickup, and will fit into the existing cover and claw. Hand built in our Custom Shop, this pickup incorporates hand-ground Alnico 5 rod magnets, a custom coil wind with heavy formvar mag wire, vintage-correct bottom gray flatwork, and cloth push-back lead wire. All Antiquity II Jaguar vintage single-coil pickups are lacquered and wax potted like the originals. Handmade in Santa Barbara, California: Seymour Duncan takes pride in designing and crafting our products to create the most amazing sound possible. That starts with providing an environment that attracts and retains our great team of engineers, product designers and craftsmen, many of whom have been with the company for decades.
